Postpartum

The postpartum season can be challenging for women, navigating the days with a new baby and little sleep. Many couples who hope to prevent another pregnancy or space children after giving birth face tough birth control decisions. Natural Family Planning (NFP) and Fertility Awareness Methods (FAM) are good options for natural birth control during the postpartum period, whether a woman is breastfeeding or not.

For couples using NFP or FAMs, the postpartum season can be an especially challenging time to read and interpret fertile signs. With the right support and instruction, however, the postpartum season can be an excellent time for growth in your relationship, and in confidence in your method of NFP. A trained instructor in your method can help you gain this confidence, and help ensure that you correctly identify things like your first postpartum ovulation symptoms.

Below you’ll find articles about postpartum health in general, and as it relates to fertility awareness methods of natural family planning.
