Abortion and Women’s Health

Birth control and abortion

Women want to know: can birth control cause an abortion? The answer: It depends. Read more here and here.

Abortion to save a mother’s life

The necessity of abortion for certain health conditions is often implicitly or explicitly communicated to women. As an organization committed to truth and transparency in women’s health, we researched the science and evidence concerning some of the conditions most commonly cited as a justification for the termination of a pregnancy (e.g., miscarriage care, preterm premature rupture of membranes, and ectopic pregnancy). We want women and medical providers alike to know that abortion is neither the best nor the only option that medicine has to offer in these tragic circumstances.

It is true that saving the lives of women facing pregnancy complications may sometimes require ending their pregnancies. However, there are safe, respectful procedures to resolve pregnancy complications, that are not abortions because a human life is not directly and intentionally ended. We cover these circumstances and procedures at length in the articles below.

Risks of surgical abortion and abortion pills, and the possibility of abortion pill reversal

Finally, Natural Womanhood wants women and their providers to know and understand that the real risks of abortion, (including the risks of abortion pills) are often downplayed. We want every woman and healthcare provider to know and understand the science and efficacy behind abortion pill reversal, so that women can have the chance of maintaining their pregnancies mid-abortion pill regimen.
