Vous \u00eates pass\u00e9e de l'anticipation de la naissance de votre enfant \u00e0 la perspective de vous occuper d'un nouvel \u00eatre humain minuscule qui d\u00e9pend enti\u00e8rement de vous pour sa survie. Il est compr\u00e9hensible que les nouvelles m\u00e8res se sentent souvent d\u00e9pass\u00e9es dans les jours, les semaines et les mois qui suivent la naissance de leur enfant. En fait, il existe un nom pour d\u00e9signer ce que de nombreuses femmes ressentent dans les premiers jours qui suivent la naissance de leur enfant : le \"baby blues\".&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le baby blues touche jusqu'\u00e0 80 % des m\u00e8res, d'apr\u00e8s l'Institut de recherche sur le cancer.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/publications\/postpartum-depression-facts\/index.shtml\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institut national de la sant\u00e9 mentale<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NIMH) et se caract\u00e9risent par des sentiments relativement l\u00e9gers d'inqui\u00e9tude, de m\u00e9contentement et de fatigue pendant une p\u00e9riode ne d\u00e9passant pas deux semaines. Cependant, certaines femmes, en plus de devoir faire face aux changements qu'apporte un nouveau b\u00e9b\u00e9, \u00e9prouvent des sympt\u00f4mes qui vont au-del\u00e0 du baby blues et qui sont connus sous le nom de d\u00e9pression post-partum (DPP).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression post-partum sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plus graves que le baby blues, durent plus de deux semaines et n\u00e9cessitent un traitement par un professionnel de la sant\u00e9 mentale. Environ 15 % des m\u00e8res souffrent de d\u00e9pression post-partum, d'apr\u00e8s l'Institut national de la sant\u00e9 publique (INSP).<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/publications\/postpartum-depression-facts\/index.shtml\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NIMH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il s'agit donc d'une question tr\u00e8s importante \u00e0 conna\u00eetre, que vous soyez une nouvelle maman, un membre de la famille ou un ami d'une personne qui vient d'avoir un b\u00e9b\u00e9. En vous sensibilisant aux signes et sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression post-partum, vous pouvez aider vos proches \u00e0 se faire soigner le plus t\u00f4t possible afin d'augmenter leurs chances de se r\u00e9tablir plus rapidement.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"symptoms-of-postpartum-depression\"><b>Sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De nombreuses femmes qui pr\u00e9sentent les sympt\u00f4mes de la DPP se sentent coupables car, au lieu d'\u00e9prouver les joies d'une nouvelle maman, elles se sentent tristes, inqui\u00e8tes et accabl\u00e9es, en plus d'une foule d'autres sympt\u00f4mes. Cependant, la DPP n'est pas due \u00e0 quelque chose qu'une m\u00e8re fait ou ne fait pas, d'apr\u00e8s<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/publications\/postpartum-depression-facts\/index.shtml\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NIMH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Au contraire, la d\u00e9pression post-partum est tr\u00e8s probablement influenc\u00e9e par des facteurs physiques et \u00e9motionnels allant des changements hormonaux au manque de sommeil.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les femmes souffrant de DPP commencent souvent \u00e0 ressentir des sympt\u00f4mes une semaine \u00e0 un mois apr\u00e8s l'accouchement (cependant, les sympt\u00f4mes peuvent commencer avant l'accouchement dans environ la moiti\u00e9 des cas de DPP, d'apr\u00e8s la<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apa.org\/pi\/women\/resources\/reports\/postpartum-depression\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Association am\u00e9ricaine de psychologie<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/publications\/postpartum-depression-facts\/index.shtml\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sympt\u00f4mes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inclure :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sentiment de tristesse, de d\u00e9sespoir et d'accablement<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pleurer plus que d'habitude<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inqui\u00e9tude ou sentiment d'anxi\u00e9t\u00e9<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changements d'humeur, notamment irritabilit\u00e9, agitation ou col\u00e8re accrues<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changements dans le sommeil, y compris un sommeil excessif ou des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 s'endormir<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Difficult\u00e9s de concentration, oublis accrus et difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 prendre des d\u00e9cisions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perte d'int\u00e9r\u00eat pour des activit\u00e9s autrefois appr\u00e9ci\u00e9es<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Douleurs physiques (maux de t\u00eate, probl\u00e8mes digestifs et\/ou douleurs musculaires)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changements d'app\u00e9tit<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S'isoler de sa famille et de ses amis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sentiment de d\u00e9tachement \u00e9motionnel par rapport au b\u00e9b\u00e9<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doute de la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 s'occuper correctement des enfants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pens\u00e9es d'automutilation ou d'atteinte \u00e0 l'int\u00e9grit\u00e9 physique du b\u00e9b\u00e9<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"risk-factors-of-postpartum-depression\"><b>Facteurs de risque de la d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bien que les raisons exactes pour lesquelles certaines femmes d\u00e9veloppent une DPP et d'autres non ne soient pas enti\u00e8rement comprises, les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 certains facteurs qui pourraient indiquer un risque accru de d\u00e9velopper une DPP. Ces facteurs sont les suivants<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apa.org\/pi\/women\/resources\/reports\/postpartum-depression\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">facteurs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> qui augmentent le risque de d\u00e9pression post-partum chez la m\u00e8re :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changements hormonaux apr\u00e8s l'accouchement<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents d'anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et\/ou de d\u00e9pression<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents familiaux de d\u00e9pression ou de maladie mentale<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une augmentation du stress qui peut inclure des facteurs de stress financiers ou li\u00e9s \u00e0 l'emploi<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S'occuper d'un b\u00e9b\u00e9 difficile ou d'un b\u00e9b\u00e9 ayant des besoins particuliers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Premi\u00e8res m\u00e8res, jeunes m\u00e8res, m\u00e8res plus \u00e2g\u00e9es<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stress \u00e9motionnels tels que le d\u00e9c\u00e8s d'un membre de la famille ou des stress relationnels<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Isolement ou manque de soutien social<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/postpartum-depression-florence-leung\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incapacit\u00e9 d'allaiter ou difficult\u00e9s extr\u00eames d'allaitement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">surtout lorsque l'allaitement maternel \u00e9tait attendu<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il est important de noter que, dans environ 50 % des cas de DPP, il s'agissait du premier \u00e9pisode d\u00e9pressif de la femme ; c'est pourquoi il est important de conna\u00eetre les autres facteurs de risque ainsi que les sympt\u00f4mes de la d\u00e9pression post-partum afin de pouvoir rechercher un traitement le plus t\u00f4t possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"treatment-options-for-postpartum-depression\"><b>Options de traitement de la d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comme la plupart des autres diagnostics de sant\u00e9 mentale, la DPP est mieux trait\u00e9e par la psychoth\u00e9rapie et, dans certains cas, par des m\u00e9dicaments.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/publications\/postpartum-depression-facts\/index.shtml\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NIMH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">si le m\u00e9decin estime que le m\u00e9dicament peut \u00eatre pris sans danger pendant l'allaitement (\u00e0 condition que la m\u00e8re souhaite toujours allaiter). Gr\u00e2ce aux premiers travaux du Dr Katherina Dalton et, plus tard, aux \u00e9tudes men\u00e9es par l'Institut du pape Paul VI, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naprotechnology.com\/depression.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">injections de progest\u00e9rone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sont depuis longtemps utilis\u00e9es par les m\u00e9decins dans le domaine de la technologie de procr\u00e9ation naturelle comme option pour traiter la DPP. Les injections de progest\u00e9rone ont l'avantage d'\u00eatre compatibles avec l'allaitement tout en am\u00e9liorant rapidement les sympt\u00f4mes de la DPP, parfois dans les minutes qui suivent l'administration. En mars 2019, le <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK541054\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brexanalone approuv\u00e9 par la FDA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">un m\u00e9tabolite naturel de la progest\u00e9rone, sp\u00e9cifiquement pour la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/fr\/nouveau-traitement-prometteur-de-la-depression-post-partum-brexanolone-1-2019\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">le traitement de la DPP<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'Alliance nationale pour les maladies mentales (NAMI)<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nami.org\/Learn-More\/Mental-Health-Conditions\/Depression\/Major-Depressive-Disorder-with-Peripartum-Onset\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">met l'accent sur<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que la d\u00e9tection pr\u00e9coce est la cl\u00e9 d'un traitement r\u00e9ussi de la DPP. Il est donc tr\u00e8s important de conna\u00eetre les sympt\u00f4mes et les facteurs de risque de la d\u00e9pression post-partum et d'\u0153uvrer \u00e0 l'\u00e9limination de la stigmatisation qui entoure la recherche d'un traitement pour les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale. Nous devons continuer \u00e0 sensibiliser \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression post-partum afin de donner aux femmes les moyens d'en prendre conscience et de se faire soigner, pour qu'elles ne se sentent pas seules ou injustement bl\u00e2m\u00e9es pour leurs sympt\u00f4mes. S'adapter \u00e0 la prise en charge d'un nouveau b\u00e9b\u00e9 tout en se remettant de l'accouchement est d\u00e9j\u00e0 suffisamment difficile sans avoir \u00e0 faire face \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression post-partum.
