Pendant longtemps, aucun m\u00e9decin ne me l'a fait remarquer, car \u00e0 99 mg\/dL, elle \u00e9tait \"normale\".<\/p>\n<p>Le jour o\u00f9 il est pass\u00e9 \u00e0 100 et m\u00e9rite d'\u00eatre mentionn\u00e9, j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 \"soudainement\" d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9-diab\u00e9tique. Les m\u00e9decins n'ont propos\u00e9 aucune solution autre que \"surveillez vos glucides\" ou commencez \u00e0 prendre des m\u00e9dicaments.<\/p>\n<p>J'ai vite compris que j'allais devoir m'int\u00e9resser de plus pr\u00e8s \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me si je voulais enrayer la progression du diab\u00e8te. Commencer plus t\u00f4t m'aurait aid\u00e9, mais j'esp\u00e8re que mon histoire de mise en garde aura une fin heureuse.<\/p>\n<p>Une partie du probl\u00e8me r\u00e9sidait dans mon manque de connaissances et de vigilance \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard de ma propre sant\u00e9. Les m\u00e9decins font ce qu'ils peuvent, mais ils pourraient faire beaucoup plus pour nous si nous venions \u00e0 eux avec nos propres connaissances. Nous pouvons faire beaucoup plus pour nous-m\u00eames si nous sommes attentifs et inform\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons tous ce choix \u00e0 faire dans notre approche de la sant\u00e9. Si la science moderne nous offre de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s de confier notre gestion \u00e0 d'autres agents, elle nous offre aussi de plus en plus d'options pour jouer un r\u00f4le plus actif et devenir les experts de notre propre corps. Nous avons d\u00e9sormais le choix entre les avanc\u00e9es scientifiques qui am\u00e9liorent r\u00e9ellement notre qualit\u00e9 de vie et celles qui vont \u00e0 l'encontre de notre bien-\u00eatre. Pourquoi faire quoi que ce soit \u00e0 partir de z\u00e9ro ?<\/li>\n<li>\"Nous n'avons plus besoin d'allaiter les b\u00e9b\u00e9s. Il suffit d'acheter du lait maternis\u00e9 en poudre. C'est tellement plus rapide et plus facile\".<\/li>\n<li>\"Nous n'avons plus besoin de manger sainement ou de perdre du poids. Nous pouvons prendre des pilules amaigrissantes ou nous faire op\u00e9rer si nous grossissons. Si nous sommes malades, la m\u00e9decine peut faire dispara\u00eetre les maladies\".<\/li>\n<li>\"Nous ne sommes pas oblig\u00e9s de nous abstenir de faire l'amour. Nous pouvons faire ce que nous voulons maintenant. Bravo ! Les contraceptifs facilitent les rapports sexuels occasionnels ; ils les rendent s\u00fbrs - ou suffisamment s\u00fbrs, en tout cas\".<\/li>\n<li>\"Nous n'avons pas besoin d'apprendre \u00e0 conna\u00eetre notre corps. Je n'ai pas besoin de savoir ce qu'est l'ovulation. Je n'ai m\u00eame pas besoin d'ovuler. Ni m\u00eame d'avoir des r\u00e8gles. Je n'ai pas besoin d'\u00eatre intime avec ma propre glaire cervicale, ni de prendre ma temp\u00e9rature ou quoi que ce soit d'autre. Il suffit de prendre ces pilules et tout le probl\u00e8me dispara\u00eet. Les pilules m'emp\u00eachent de tomber enceinte et font dispara\u00eetre mes crampes et mon syndrome pr\u00e9menstruel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"we-need-help-from-others\">Nous avons besoin de l'aide des autres<\/h2>\n<p>Si je veux pr\u00e9venir le diab\u00e8te ou le g\u00e9rer naturellement, j'aurai besoin de connaissances approfondies. Je veux faire tout ce que je peux pour moi, et je crois que c'est beaucoup, pour rester en bonne sant\u00e9 et le plus naturellement possible. Pour rester en bonne sant\u00e9 sans d\u00e9pendre de m\u00e9dicaments, je dois agir, mais j'ai aussi besoin d'informations et de conseils de la part d'experts comp\u00e9tents.<\/p>\n<p>De m\u00eame, si nous voulons pr\u00e9parer nos propres aliments, nous avons besoin d'une \u00e9ducation. Nous ne naissons pas en sachant cuisiner ou jardiner, m\u00eame si ces activit\u00e9s sont certainement \"naturelles\". Nous apprenons ces comp\u00e9tences gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'exp\u00e9rience d'autres personnes, les livres n'\u00e9tant qu'un pi\u00e8tre substitut. Je cuisine beaucoup, mais je n'ai jamais r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire quoi que ce soit qui implique de la levure, et je n'ai jamais compris comment \"plier\" quelque chose. Mes talents de jardinier laissent \u00e9galement \u00e0 d\u00e9sirer. Si vous voulez \u00e9viter ou obtenir une grossesse naturellement, sans effets secondaires ni risques pour la sant\u00e9, en harmonie avec vos cycles de fertilit\u00e9 naturels, vous avez besoin d'une source de soutien, tout comme les m\u00e8res qui allaitent ont besoin de l'aide d'une autre femme ou de la ligue La Leche. J'ai appris \u00e0 tracer des graphiques dans un livre, mais \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque, j'essayais d'\u00e9viter une grossesse. Le fait d'essayer d'\u00e9viter une grossesse entra\u00eene un facteur de peur qu'une formation approfondie \u00e9liminera.
