La m\u00e1quina de ruido blanco zumbaba en un rinc\u00f3n. Mientras besaba a mi hijo de 19 meses y lo acostaba en la cuna para que durmiera la siesta, capt\u00e9 el destello de algo arriba y a la derecha, como un peque\u00f1o fuego artificial en la oscuridad de la habitaci\u00f3n. <em>S\u00ed, definitivamente necesitaba ir al hospital.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mi madre acababa de llegar para llevarme a m\u00ed y a mi reci\u00e9n nacido a urgencias mientras mi marido se quedaba con mis tres hijos mayores. Ese chispazo fue el \u00fanico s\u00edntoma que experiment\u00e9 de mi preeclampsia posparto, aparte de las lecturas de mi presi\u00f3n arterial alta. A d\u00eda de hoy, a veces me pregunto qu\u00e9 habr\u00eda pasado si no me hubieran avisado control\u00e1ndome la tensi\u00f3n en casa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si ha estado embarazada alguna vez, sabr\u00e1 que <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/preeclampsia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">preeclampsia<\/a> es una amenaza que se cierne sobre el tercer trimestre. Aunque no seas consciente de ello, en cada una de tus citas prenatales te someten a un cribado. Por eso te toman la tensi\u00f3n tan a menudo, y a veces la orina. A las 40 semanas y dos d\u00edas, como a\u00fan no me hab\u00eda puesto de parto por mi cuenta, ingres\u00e9 en el hospital. <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/razones-para-ser-inducido\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">para una inducci\u00f3n<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este fue mi cuarto beb\u00e9. Tuve una inducci\u00f3n encantadora de 6 horas con un encantador <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/mas-alla-de-las-opciones-de-tratamiento-del-dolor-del-parto-con-epidural\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">epidural<\/a> y sin desgarros. Esta vez, no volvieron a bajar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando fui a urgencias a los cinco d\u00edas de dar a luz, mi tensi\u00f3n arterial hab\u00eda subido a 194\/100. Me alegr\u00e9 mucho de tener a mi madre all\u00ed conmigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-postpartum-preeclampsia-is-treated\"><span id=\"how-postpartum-preeclampsia-is-treated\">C\u00f3mo se trata la preeclampsia posparto<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>R\u00e1pidamente me ingresaron en el hospital y me administraron medicaci\u00f3n intravenosa para bajar la tensi\u00f3n, incluidas 24 horas de hospitalizaci\u00f3n. <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/que-hace-el-magnesio-por-el-organismo\/\">magnesio<\/a>que se administra para prevenir las convulsiones, y me hizo sentir fatal. Sin embargo, mi hijo ya no era un paciente, lo que significaba que las enfermeras no pod\u00edan hacer nada por \u00e9l, y mi marido tuvo que quedarse conmigo a tiempo completo como su cuidador responsable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de que me retiraran el magnesio, el resto de mi estancia de 48 horas en el hospital fue benditamente aburrido, aunque ech\u00e9 de menos a mis tres hijos mayores m\u00e1s de lo que cre\u00eda posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Me enviaron a casa con medicamentos diarios e instrucciones para que me tomara la tensi\u00f3n todas las ma\u00f1anas, que segu\u00ed con diligencia. Pasaron varias semanas antes de que me aconsejaran que dejara de tomar los medicamentos. Estoy muy agradecida por vivir en una \u00e9poca en la que pude recibir el tratamiento que necesitaba. Hace apenas cien a\u00f1os, probablemente habr\u00eda tenido un ataque y habr\u00eda muerto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-symptoms-to-look-out-for\"><span id=\"symptoms-to-look-out-for\">S\u00edntomas a tener en cuenta<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo puede saber si padece preeclampsia posparto? En primer lugar, si sus m\u00e9dicos est\u00e1n preocupados por su presi\u00f3n arterial, <strong>\u00a1aseg\u00farese de seguir sus consejos para controlarlo en casa!<\/strong> Seguir esas instrucciones me salv\u00f3 literalmente la vida. Hay otras <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marchofdimes.org\/find-support\/blog\/preeclampsia-can-also-happen-after-youve-given-birth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">s\u00edntomas a tener en cuenta<\/a> cualquiera de los cuales podr\u00eda indicar una emergencia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cambios en la visi\u00f3n, como visi\u00f3n borrosa, luces intermitentes, visi\u00f3n de manchas o sensibilidad a la luz.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dolor de cabeza que no desaparece<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>N\u00e1useas (malestar estomacal), v\u00f3mitos o mareos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dolor en la zona superior derecha del vientre o en el hombro<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hinchaz\u00f3n en las piernas, las manos o la cara<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dificultad para respirar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demasiadas prote\u00ednas en la orina y disminuci\u00f3n de la micci\u00f3n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hipertensi\u00f3n arterial (140\/90 o m\u00e1s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La preeclampsia posparto suele aparecer en las 48 horas siguientes al parto, pero <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marchofdimes.org\/find-support\/blog\/preeclampsia-can-also-happen-after-youve-given-birth\">puede ocurrir<\/a> hasta seis semanas despu\u00e9s del parto.
