A medida que se acercaba la fecha del parto, buscaba estrategias y t\u00e9cnicas que la ayudaran en el trabajo de parto y el alumbramiento. Su ansiedad ante el parto no es inusual, sobre todo si es el primer embarazo de una mujer o si ha tenido un parto traum\u00e1tico. Sin embargo, para algunas mujeres, el miedo al parto va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del estr\u00e9s y la ansiedad t\u00edpicos, provocando el miedo debilitante y patol\u00f3gico al embarazo y el parto conocido como tocofobia.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-tokophobia-and-how-does-it-differ-from-typical-anxieties-about-pregnancy-and-childbirth\"><span id=\"what-is-tokophobia-and-how-does-it-differ-from-typical-anxieties-about-pregnancy-and-childbirth\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la tocofobia y en qu\u00e9 se diferencia de la ansiedad t\u00edpica ante el embarazo y el parto?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tener cierto grado de ansiedad ante el embarazo y el parto es perfectamente normal. De hecho, alrededor del 80% de las mujeres <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0887618516303206#fig0010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">informe<\/a> se sienten preocupadas o temerosas por su embarazo o por la experiencia del parto. En otras palabras, la mujer que se siente completamente en paz con toda la experiencia es muy rara. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3830168\/#:~:text=Tokophobia%20is%20a%20pathological%20fear,no%20previous%20experience%20of%20pregnancy.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">diagn\u00f3stico cl\u00ednico<\/a> de la tocofobia se describe como un \"miedo patol\u00f3gico al embarazo y puede llevar a evitar el parto\", Aunque es relativamente infrecuente, la tocofobia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0887618516303206#fig0010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">afecta a<\/a> un estimado de 5-15% de mujeres. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta fobia difiere de la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/miedos-durante-el-embarazo-y-el-parto-tocofobia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">miedos al embarazo menos intensos<\/a>&nbsp;muchas mujeres porque puede provocar un fuerte deseo de evitar el embarazo por completo. Busca familiares y amigos que apoyen el parto. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3830168\/#:~:text=Tokophobia%20is%20a%20pathological%20fear,no%20previous%20experience%20of%20pregnancy.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Investigaci\u00f3n<\/a>&nbsp;ha descubierto que el apoyo firme y positivo de la familia y los amigos desempe\u00f1a un papel importante en la reducci\u00f3n del malestar psicol\u00f3gico que rodea al embarazo y el parto. De hecho, una red de apoyo positiva es tan significativa que una&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3830168\/#:~:text=Tokophobia%20is%20a%20pathological%20fear,no%20previous%20experience%20of%20pregnancy.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estudiar<\/a>&nbsp;descubri\u00f3 que contar con ese apoyo se traduc\u00eda en una reducci\u00f3n 50% de las ces\u00e1reas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de rodearte de familiares y amigos que sean positivos y te apoyen en el parto, puedes considerar la posibilidad de hablar con un <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalwomanhood.org\/es\/tres-metodos-naturales-con-respaldo-cientifico-para-facilitar-el-parto-y-el-posparto\/\">doula<\/a>. Las doulas son personas de apoyo al parto que pueden acompa\u00f1arte en el hospital o donde tengas previsto dar a luz, para ayudarte a defender tus necesidades y hacer que la experiencia sea m\u00e1s c\u00f3moda. Las doulas creen que el parto es hermoso y aspiran a ayudar a las mujeres a sentirse en sinton\u00eda con su cuerpo durante esta poderosa experiencia. Aunque tienen una filosof\u00eda que apoya el parto natural, tambi\u00e9n pueden apoyarte y ayudarte aunque elijas otro camino. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La terapia cognitivo-conductual y otras formas de psicoterapia pueden ser \u00fatiles, as\u00ed como la medicaci\u00f3n para controlar la ansiedad, la depresi\u00f3n y otros problemas de salud mental que podr\u00edan estar presentes en algunos casos.
